VCEN receives $10,000 grant!

After going through two rounds of selection, Nelson and James have secured a Social Justice Fund of Ventura County 2024 fellowship! The money will go towards Chromebooks for an upcoming typing class, food, events, outreach, and volunteer incentives. We are excited to work with the SJFVC in our next chapter.
Conclusion of the 23-24 school year

This past year has been both memorable and fulfilling for us. We have helped ~30 families with one-on-one online tutoring, logging several hundred individual tutoring hours. Furthermore, are proud to have taught our ~15 students speech and debate, and preparing them for their first debate tournament. We want to thank all of our volunteers and our parents, who have made all of this possible. We also would like to thank Dr. Henry Villenueva and Ms. Jessica Vargas, who have mentored and enabled us to begin this initiative.
Plans for the upcoming 24-25 school year

We hope to begin our online tutoring program and debate class towards the end of October. All website links and information have been updated!
